Private Specialist Network App case study

Built a secure referral and case-routing app that matches patients to medical specialists by geolocation, with token-based auth and zero-trust controls, and published it on the App Store and Google Play.

The challenge

Case assignment was manual, slow, and inconsistent, with limited visibility, weak access controls, and high coordination overhead across teams.

The approach

Mapped triage and referral workflows end-to-end, then designed a mobile-first architecture with strict identity boundaries, resilient API patterns, and operational observability.

The solution

Delivered a Flutter app backed by Django APIs and Redis, deployed on AWS with load balancing. The platform includes full authentication with token lifecycle management, zero-trust access policies, TLS-secured transport, and geolocation-based specialist matching for faster routing.

The results

  • Published on the App Store and Google Play
  • End-to-end case assignment reduced to under 2 minutes from submission
  • 99.95% uptime target with load-balanced AWS deployment
  • 100% authenticated API access with token-based session controls
  • Specialist matching automated by location and availability rules

Clinical coordinators moved from ad-hoc manual handoffs to a controlled workflow with auditable decisions, clearer ownership, and stronger security posture.
